We are celebrating our 50th Anniversary this year!
The University Club is celebrating a unique double anniversary in 2017 – 50 years since its establishment in a hut on campus and 35 years since moving to the current location at the head of Bowker Creek.



In honour of this milestone, the Club is holding three major anniversary events throughout 2017.  Each event features unique entertainment, culinary feasts and specific segments of the Club’s history from
1967 – 2017!

The first anniversary event will take place on Saturday February 18, 2017. The theme will be a cocktail reception open to the membership. The Club’s opening in 1967, the founders and the campus hut years will be chronicled. Long – term employee service awards will be presented!

The second anniversary event will take place on Saturday July 22, 2017. The theme will be a 1967 dinner dance featuring a 60’s culinary theme and band! The event will be open to the membership and their guests.

The third anniversary event will take place on Saturday November 18, 2017. The theme will be a formal dinner dance. Club history from 1982 to 2017 will be featured. The event will be open to the membership!

The University Club celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this year. To mark this wonderful milestone, we are delighted to invite you to attend an evening dedicated to the year in which the Club was founded. Food, drinks, and the entertainments will take you back to 1967, a year of artistic creativity, social turmoil, and political change.

Do you think you remember what happened in that year in Canada and across the world? Here’s your chance to find out, whether you lived through it or just know it from films, TV, music, and books.
Dr. Marcus Milwright will be your host and actors from the UVic’s theatre program will be on hand to perform scenes from plays and films of the year and you will have a chance to take part in the 1967 quiz.

Take yourself back to the year when Canada was just a century old, the Beatles recorded Sergeant Pepper, and thousands marched against the war in Vietnam. Raid your wardrobes and come dressed in period costume!​

Pairing Menu!
CANAPÉS – Onion soup, dip & chips, stuffed celery boats, angels & devils on horse back deviled eggs.
Wine Pairing – OrtegaLight acidity with floral notes, combined with an array of tropical fruit flavors, including grapefruit, apricot, and melon.

APPETIZER – Royal prawn’s with Marie Rose cocktail sauce.
Wine Pairing – Blanc De NoirBlanc de Noir is whole-cluster pressed, embellishing the wine with an appealing colour to match its enticing flavour.

MAIN COURSE – Salmon & Crab Wellington.
Wine Pairing – Pinot GrisThis full-bodied and expressive wine presents flavours including ripe pear, melon, gooseberry and a hint of lemon rind.

DESSERT – Chocolate Baked Alaska, Raspberry Jell-O, Tunnel of fudge cake Profiterole.
Wine Pairing  – PoetryA dessert wine blended from Estate Maréchal Foch and Pinot Noir grapes enhanced with Sea Star Estate Farm raspberries and blackberries.
